0112 MyBlood is slow

Question:

MyBlood is slow. What's wrong?

    Answer:

If MyBlood is getting slow there are a few things to check.

1. Are you working on a local disc or on a USB stick...
MyBlood reads and writes relatively often to disc. If the disc you have the database and the images on is slow, this will have an impact on the speed of the application. A USB stick or network disc is nice to share data with, but is slow compared to your local disc. We suggest tto use dropbox (www.dropbox.com) to share data with.

2. How big are your image files
MyBlood will try to make a thumbnail of every big file, and will access only the thumbnail if it already exists. But until all thumbnails are made, the application can slow down to read big files. The file size of media can be limited by using a compressed file format like .jpg.
Don't use files that are bigger than you need. A4or Letter size pages at 150 dpi in jpg format are normally not bigger than 500KB.

3. How big is your database
Very big databases, bigger than 200.000 or 300.000 people can slow down the application.
